Arizona, a state in the United States' southwestern region, is best known for the Grand Canyon, a mile-deep gorge created by the Colorado River. Flagstaff, a ponderosa pine-covered mountain town, serves as a critical entrance to the Grand Canyon and is a popular tourist destination.
